Communities in Schools/ACE

The After school Centers on Education, ACE,  is grant funded through Texas Education Agency as a part of the 21st Century Community Learning Centers Grants.  ACE provides students in grades two through twelve, at no cost, a safe environment for expanded learning and enrichment opportunities before and after school hours. Programs also offer enhanced academic and tutorial services to help students meet state and local academic achievement standards in reading, math, science and social studies.

In addition to the academic components, ACE offers students a broad array of additional services, enrichment programs and activities such as youth development, drug and violence prevention, fine arts, science, technology, physical fitness, health, wellness, nutrition, community service, mentoring, college preparedness, career exploration, work force readiness and civic responsibility. Families of students participating in ACE are also offered opportunities for literacy, parenting, technology and related educational development opportunities.
